The Football Federation of Macedonia has taken another significant step in improving the sports infrastructure, by starting the construction of the new southern stand at the Biljanini Izvori stadium in Ohrid.
The new stand will have a capacity of 3,500 seats and will include modern facilities such as eight sky boxes for VIP zones, a media center and other facilities according to international standards.
The ceremony for the start of the works was attended by the President of the FFM, Muamed Sejdini, the Mayor of Ohrid, Kiril Pecakov, the members of the FFM Board of Directors, Toni Ivanoski and Dzevad Dibrani, as well as the President of the Municipal Football Association of Ohrid, Cane Milososki.
In his address to the audience and the media, President Sejdini emphasized the importance of this project:
“We are proud to invest in a project that not only improves the football infrastructure, but also enables Ohrid to receive a modern facility of international standing. The new stand, together with the existing one, fulfills our commitment to the Ohrid stadium. After the completion of this stand, the Municipality of Ohrid will build the two stands behind the goals and install the lighting, thus transforming the stadium into a modern facility ready for international matches, including those of our national team. With its tourist facilities and proximity to the airport, Ohrid has the potential to become a significant football destination in addition to being a tourist destination. Thanks to UEFA for their support and to the Municipality for their cooperation in this major project.”
The construction of the new stand represents a significant step towards realizing the vision of a modern sports infrastructure in Ohrid, providing better conditions for players, fans and the organization of international events.
