WADA - The World Anti-Doping Agency has published the Prohibited List of Substances and Methods (the List).

In accordance with Article 4.1 of the WADA UEFA Anti-Doping Regulations, 2021 Edition, the 2025 Prohibited List will apply to all UEFA competitions from 1 January 2025.

WADA has also published:

  • The Summary of Changes and Explanatory Notes for 2025 compared to the 2024 List; and
  • The 2025 Monitoring Program, which includes substances not on the List but which WADA wishes to monitor to detect potential patterns of abuse in sport.

The List is one of eight international standards that are binding on all signatories worldwide to the Anti-Doping Code. It indicates which substances and methods are prohibited in and out of competition and which substances are prohibited in specific sports.

The list is published before it comes into force so that players, player support personnel (e.g. coaches, doctors, etc.) and other interested parties can become aware of any modifications. Players are responsible for any prohibited substances found in their bodies and any prohibited methods found to have been used. Player support personnel are also responsible for any anti-doping rule violation if they are found to be complicit. Consequently, if there is any doubt about the status of a substance or method, it is important that players and their support personnel contact the UEFA Anti-Doping Unit for advice.

Attached is the circular with all links to the necessary documents to be distributed to medical staff and players.
