The Macedonian Women's A national team officially begins with the preparations for the two friendly matches with the Montenegrin national team today in Skopje.
The friendly matches between Macedonia and Montenegro will be played on November 30th starting at 1:00 PM and December 3rd starting at 12:00 PM at the "Petar Miloševski" training center.
The head coach of the Macedonian Women's A national team, Aleksandar Andov, shared his expectations before the two test matches with Montenegro.
-The goal of these two friendly matches with Montenegro is primarily to maintain continuity, to improve in certain segments and to eliminate weaknesses in our game. We want to be in the best physical and mental condition before the start of the Nations League match cycle. We have a clear vision and goal for next year, and that is to win first place in our group in the new edition of the Nations League.
-The Montenegrin national team is a quality opponent, who played an excellent two-match match against Finland in the play-offs. We have played several matches against them and they have always been more successful than us in terms of results. But that is in the past, we are in a phase where we are building a new national team that will be competitive and ready for all kinds of challenges.
-The previous qualifications for the European Championship were successful for us, considering that until the last match we were second in the group and with a win we would have managed to enter the play-offs, but our inexperience in playing under pressure took its toll. I can say that from match to match we are growing as a team, there is continuous improvement in our game, we are on the right track.
-We have a good group in the League of Nations. Kosovo and Latvia are serious teams that have made great progress in their game. There is no more room for excuses. We have a great and real opportunity ahead of us that we need to make the most of. We want to show ourselves in a good light and finally win first place in our group.
Our best women's national team will start its performance in the new, second edition of the League of Nations 2025 on February 21 against Kosovo at home.
