With the support of UEFA and FIFA the Football Federation of Macedonia have started the announced review and revision of the FFM Statute in accordance with the Federation's strategic plan and following the Good Governance practice.

Working groups consisted of representatives of FFM, UEFA and FIFA are already working on a draft version of the Statute of FFM, based on the legislations and FIFA and UEFA regulations

The UEFA and FIFA representatives point out that the aim is to reach a solution that will enable "Stronger Statute - Better Organization", and the existing Statute of FFM represents a strong starting point, since it is already in line with the legislations and the FIFA and UEFA regulations.

The General Secretary of FFM Filip Popovski states that the federation remains dedicated to the planned activities and defined goals.

"In accordance with the FFM Strategic Plan one of the leading pillars, Good Governance incorporates the project of reviewing the Statute with all the connected activities in regards to the reforming of the Football Federation of Macedonia regulations.

In line with our plans, we have started the process of reviewing the Statute together with our partners FIFA and UEFA right after the finalization of the World Cup Qualification matches. The process is conducted within predetermined working groups.

We are very satisfied with this workshop because it is a part of the main pillar, Good Governance, and a lot of initiatives and activities that will be implemented according the planned dynamics, will derive from this process. We remain dedicated to the planned activities and goals“, stated Filip Popovski.

Luca Nicola and Yahh Hafner are the UEFA representatives on the workshops organized by FFM.

Luca Nicola - Head of NA Governance and Global Institutions, UEFA:

"I would like to express my appreciation for our constructive discussions over the past two days in Skopje. Together with the Football Federation of Macedonia we are starting a process of preparation of a draft version of the FFM Statute.

I truly believe that together we will be able to provide a high quality solution that will be in line with the Statutes of UEFA and FIFA, as well as with the national legislation. This is a practice that FFM is very familiar with, since they are already working in line with the principals of Good Governance, respecting the legal regulations and coordinating with UEFA and FIFA.

This is a process, we are handling a ‘live matter”. it’s excellent that we can hear your thoughts and I sincerely hope that we will come to a solution that is acceptable for all the stakeholders, maybe even on one of the following General Assemblies of your Federation“.

Sofia Malizia - Members Associations Governance Service Manager, FIFA

"We are truly delighted with our joint collaboration so far in relation to the Football Federation of Macedonia Statute.

Essentially, we are here to understand the intentions and the goals of your federation and together with all included in the working groups to come to a solution that is feasible for all interested parties and stakeholders. We do have a strong and high quality base in the current Statute of the Football Federation of Macedonia which is also based on the legal regulations and the regulations of FIFA and UEFA.

At this moment we are looking at the “big picture” in relation to the core legal document of the federation. However, with the finalization of this process we will make efforts to come to a level of improvement of the Statute because the experience and practice of many other federations has thought us that this is healthy for the organization itself. All in direction of a stronger Statute – better organization.

In the past period you had excellent results on the pitch, we are here to support you to follow that improvement off the pitch as well.

Looking at the people involved in the process, the organization of the workshops and the topics we are working on, I have no doubt that we will manage to do an excellent job!“.
