On the International Women's Day, March 8th the Football Federation of Macedonia, presented the first Macedonian women's strategy "More women - more goals" 2021-2025.

At the official promotion of the FFM strategy, our special guests were the EU Ambassador of Macedonia, David Gere, and the US Ambassador, Kate Burns.

By creating the first strategy for women football, our goal is to make women football the number one sport in our country for women and girls.

Through the work of the structures in the Women's Football Federation, we want to build a development competitive structure, which is great for women players, but primarily the goal is to develop and support an ambitious representative structure with a challenge to be competitive on the European football scene.

The Vice President of FFM- Lazar Rakidziev, the General Security- Filip Popovski, addressed the event today, and our Vlatko Andonovski, selector of the US women's national team, gave his support through a video address.

Lazar Rakidziev - Vice President of FFM:

"Guided by the maxim" Equal opportunities for all ", we created the first Macedonian strategy for women's football: More women - more goals!

Through inspirational promotion we try to make the game attractive and accessible with the intention of overcoming any cultural or practical barriers that may exist.

We want every girl who dreams of playing for our national team to feel confident that her talent will be noticed and that the necessary coaching opportunities will be available to support her development.

Women's football is much more than an elite performance. By increasing the levels of participation, we can also contribute to many social issues. Improving physical fitness, increasing self-confidence, creating new employment opportunities, or overcoming the misconception associated with women's participation in sports.

Together with my colleagues we are committed to play our full role in the development of women's play and to contribute to being much more than just spectators of women's football.

"Because the more we celebrate women in sports and football, the more we will have something to celebrate."

Filip Popovski -  General Secretary  of FFM:

"This strategy is completely committed to positive action. It has been in operation since last year. Working through the five strategic pillars, we intend to build and strengthen a long-term and sustainable national structure for women's football.

However, this will not happen by our own efforts alone. To reach our full potential, we will need to continue to work with many different partners, including our clubs, our schools, local governments, media, and commercial partners. We all have an important role in the development of women's football as the number one women's sport in Macedonia and we hope that this strategy will help to inspire continued support and involvement.

We will create greater accessibility to our football infrastructure and through that we will try to overcome the barriers that have historically prevented the engagement of women. We as a federation will ensure that women have equal opportunities to access our governance structure and key roles in our team.

We as FFM do not believe that only one day a year should be dedicated to women. With this strategy we want to contribute and celebrate women's football and the role of women in sports every day in the years to come.

Vlatko Andonovski - selector of the US women's national team:

"My support for this fantastic project that will accelerate the growth of women's football. Achieving it, will require commitment from everyone, everyone will have their role. With a plan like this I think we have a bright future ahead, nothing can be changed overnight, but we can do a lot. "When women are successful, we are all successful.'
