The national team of Macedonia under the age of 21 today at the Park Hotel, at 12 o'clock, had a meeting that marked the beginning of preparations for the upcoming control matches against Armenia and Malta in Skopje.
On June 15, starting at 5 p.m., the young Macedonian national team will play the first control match against the corresponding selection of Armenia. Five days later, the second control duel is on the schedule, at the same time (5:00 p.m.) against the Maltese national team. Both matches will be played at the "Petar Milosevski" training center in Skopje.
Our young footballers will do their first training today at 5:00 p.m. ahead of the two control matches.
One of our best young footballers, Metodi Maksimov, gave his opinion and commentary on the upcoming matches of the Macedonian national team and the current form.
- From match to match we play better, we grow and mature together as a team. There is a great atmosphere in the national team, I hope that by the start of the qualifiers we will be in great shape and present ourselves in a good light. We have a series of great results behind us. We played a great tournament in Antalya, although we lost twice undeservedly, especially in the first place match against Slovakia, where we were the better opponent throughout the 90 minutes.
- We have a great team, we have great quality and we work well as a team. It is normal that there is room for progress, we strive to be better and more competitive from match to match. We want to surprise opponents with our good and fighting game.
- We should believe in ourselves and in our possibilities as much as possible. All of us as one should continue to fight and do our best for the jersey with the national coat of arms. We want to achieve two victories against Armenia and Malta and round off these preparations and the series of control matches in a great way.
- At the moment I feel great physically, with my club Shkendija we have been training intensively for two and a half weeks. I am ready for the upcoming challenges that await me with the Macedonian national team.
The national team of Macedonia U21, on September 8, against Sweden, begins the qualifications for placement in the European Championship 2025.
