Macedonia U21 Draw 1:1 against Saudi Arabia

The  national team of Macedonia under 21 ended the control tournament that was played in Saint Martin, in Mura, Croatia, with a draw against Saudi Arabia.

Our young representation played a quality match against the representation of Saudi Arabia, which played in this match with players under 23 years old. The final score was 1:1.

The excellent form in this match was confirmed by Mario Ilievski, who was the scorer of the only goal for Macedonia.

Metodi Maksimov had the first serious opportunity for the team of the head coach Dragi Kanatlarovski, who after an excellent penetration on the right side beat the opponent's goal. Luka Stankovski missed an opportunity from a penalty to give advantage to our representation, the opposing goalkeeper managed to tame the shot from 11 meters. In the last minute of the first half, Saudi Arabia took a 1:0 advantage with a penalty goal.

In the continuation, Macedonian players were attacking more and were more concretely after the opponent's goal. That ultimately resulted in a goal by Mario Ilievski in the 60th minute for the final 1:1.

In the first match of the control tournament in Croatia, Macedonia U21 celebrated a victory over Albania with 3:1.
