The Economic Chamber of Macedonia is strengthening the cooperation with the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) with mutual goals to advance the corporate social responsibility in Macedonia.

“The economic progress should be looked several ways and one of the ways to achieve it is through advancing the corporate social responsibility, which by itself is a way of corporate self-regulation integrated in the business model. The goal is to take responsibility for all business activities and to promote positive values through activities tackling the environment, the consumers, the employees, the communities and everyone else involved.  The Economic Chamber of Macedonia believes that it is important to promote the sustainable and responsible business practices of our members for which we believe that will only extend their future working activities in this field.” – stated the General Manager of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, Ms. Jelisaveta Georgieva.

The cooperation between the Economic Chamber of Macedonia and FFM will run through activities that will contribute to achieving the goals that are defined in the “Plan for sport development in Macedonia 2013-2017”, in particular:

- Promoting the numerous examples of the involvement of the business sector in sports activities, through different activities that aim to raise the overall life-style quality, as a condition for achievement of  the benefits shown through parameters that result in creating a healthy nation. 

- Creating a stable system for support and development of these activities in order to create sustainable sources for self-financing, through encouraging businesses to give their support, i.e., establishing a platform for achieving the idea to promote the essentials that lead to strengthening the Nation’s values reflected through sport.

The General Secretary of the Football Federation of Macedonia, Mr. Filip Popovski, emphasized that FFM has the privilege, responsibility and skills to manage the game of football in Macedonia in all of its aspects.

“Taking the role and the responsibility to be engaged in football, we must adapt to the circumstances that keep on changing and developing. We must face all the new challenges that football brings to the World. We must set new goals that will lead to success, fair-play and proper values. Every year, we will aim to become the sports, organizational and administrative winners. Our mission is to lead the Football Federation of Macedonia to better results, and to build our integrity through good leadership in order to fully protect the game. To protect and care for the football future, through strengthening the winning mentality, and through making football in Macedonia more accessible to everybody that wants to be a part of it. Our mission is to collaborate with local and regional organizations and associations, clubs, leagues, viewers, fans and other people that are involved with football; the ones that speed up the growth,  development and stability of the football in Macedonia” – stated Mr. Popovski.

At the press conference, the two institutions signed a memorandum of cooperation, which is a formalization and a beginning of the future joint activities that will be implemented in order to achieve the national interest through the development of sport as a recognizable value by which, among other benefits, is representing and promoting the Republic of Macedonia in international frameworks and strengthening national awareness.

A brochure was also promoted that shows the mutual activities of the two institutions, which promotes the importance of football that will unites us all in the joy that this sport brings.

The first event that was announced at the press conference, is the organization of a football match between members of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia and members of the Foreign Investments Council. The event will take place on  12 November, 2014 at the “House of Football” complex at 12:00h. At this football match we will see representatives from the member companies of the Economic Chamber of Macedonia, but also members from the Football Federation of Macedonia.
