Both teams played a good match, without many chances to score and with a very careful and strong defense. Our team had 2 chances to score through Agim Ibraimi, but there weren’t any other great chances. The best chance at the match had the Australian player Mathew Leckie in 66’ where he was alone in front of our goal post, but fortunately our goalkeeper Kristijan Naumovski intervened and stopped him from scoring.  

“We played a good match against a very strong team. We showed that the match against Belarus was just a bad day for our team. I am fully committed to our national team, I do my job well and I don’t feel any extra pressure, my main and only concern is the national team. We are focused on achieving our goals, and that is to create a competitive team in the future.”-stated the head coach Boshko Gjurovski.

Dusan Trajchevski had the chance to play for the national team for the first time as a mid-fielder, and he didn’t hide his pleasure to wear the Macedonian national jersey for the first time.

“I am very happy that I got the chance to play for the Macedonian national team, it was a great honor. I am very grateful to the head coach Gjurovski for giving me this opportunity and for his faith in me. I played a good match, but I can always do better.”-stated Dushan Trajchevski after the match.
